Recording a How To Video

My How To Video

I am going to talk about how to set up the recording studio (in the college) and also how to use lavaliere mics while on location.

I will start off the video with talking about what the video will be about, then I will go into being more specific. I will start off with talking about a studio microphone set up and then I will go into the studio and talk about what I am doing while I set it up. The footage on screen will be sped up while there is the voice over on the top. I will then show how to record on the software in the studio, both Audition and Garage Band to show that either one would work depending on which one they use the most or can access easily. I will then show a recording of a song that I have recorded using the studio set up and briefly explain if anything was done in post production.

Then I would go on to showing how to use a lavalier mic while on location, either being plugged directly into the camera or into a mobile recorder. Roughly explain what the blimp and the dead cat does while recording, have two recordings to show on with and another without. I will also show how to set up the recorder and microphone, this would be showed as I was talking a little bit about both equipment pieces as a voice over.

In my case study examples they have fun and enthusiastic voices and transitions to their video in order for the audience to keep interest. There are 2 out of the 3 videos that have scored music over the top of their footage, however the other 1 has musical examples of what they are talking about. I am hoping that in my video I can do both of these things without straying away from the information.
